Read more here: 52nd Annual Grammy Predictions

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will take place tonight, Sunday, January 31 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. CBS is broadcasting the event live beginning at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). It’s time for humble country music guide to go out on a ledge and give you my predictions for some of tonight’s major categories. It’s always fun to try to predict the Grammys because Grammy voters are a notoriously fickle bunch, and they really enjoy swimming upstream at times. Artist Spotlight
Alan Eugene Jackson
Born: Oct 17 1958
After Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson was the most popular male country singer of the '90s. An heir to the new traditionalist movement of the '80s, Jackson's approach was rooted in classic honky tonk yet remained comfortably within the contemporary mainstream. Jackson's hallmark was consistency -- he wrote many of his own hits, and his way with a hook was part of the reason he never really hit a commercial dry spell, even into the new millennium.
